Bal Harbour, Fl. Compassion is always key this time of the year. The people of Bal Harbour Village is collecting Thanksgiving food basket donations through Monday, November 20th .
Bal Harbour Village is partnering with the Homestead Farmworkers Association (a 501(c)3 non-profit organization) to provide Thanksgiving food baskets to 100 families* of migrant farmworkers who were financially impacted by Hurricane Irma.
Items to bring for a complete basket:
- • Frozen Turkey (9 to12 lb.) • 3 lb. Sweet Potatoes (Non-canned) • 1 lb. Dry Pinto Beans
- • 2 -10oz. Bags of Green Beans (Fresh or Frozen/Non-canned)
- • 1 Can of Cranberry sauce
- • 1 Dessert – Pie or Cake (Store-bought preferred) *Average family size is 5 to 6 people
Please drop off all donations to the Bal Harbour Recreation Center (18 Bal Bay Dr.) during normal operating hours (Monday – Friday, 9:00am to 5:00pm). The Recreation Center is located across from Village Hall. The deadline to drop-off donations is Monday, November 20th .Donations will be delivered to the Association’s office in Homestead on Tuesday, November 21st .
